Seed/Agronomy Associate

We are currently accepting applications for a seed/agronomy associate based out of our Farmers Cooperative Association (FCA) Agronomy Department in Columbus, Kansas. This employee will be responsible for assisting the department in sales, purchasing, and delivering products to our customers. Education, training, and career development will be provided to the successful candidate.

Essential Functions, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

• Operating seed treatment technology
• Product delivery
• Assisting with seed sales objectives
• Invoicing and administrative duties
• Scheduling management
• Precise record keeping abilities
• Build relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, fertilizer, ag chemical and agronomy services
• Remain up-to-date on agronomic products, trends, problems, services, and resources
• Utilize tools such as precision farming and crop scouting to enhance customer satisfaction
• Communicate with management about products being sold or prepaid and issues with products
• Collaborate with Crop Production Management Team
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS sheets and procedure manuals
• Ability to work both alone and as a team member
• Ability to assist with operations or in other departments when needed
• Ensure quality of agronomy products and services
• Collaborate with peers, co-workers, vendors, internal and external customers
• Professional customer service skills
• Agronomy experience and knowledge of agronomy operations preferred

Candidates should be self-motivated individuals with the ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with the employee team and patrons. Seasonal overtime and ability to assist in other departments will be required. Candidates must pass all FCA pre-employment requirements. This employee will be responsible for ensuring in a safe and accurate manner that equipment and facilities are well maintained. The ability to maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will be required.
